In this report, the upper table displays the metadata for the dimensions and shows the mappings of the metadata to the database tables. It indicates whether the mappings for a level are valid or whether a problem in the mapping exists. It reports an error when the mapping for the dimension does not exist or if the mapping is not supported by the Dimension Data Validation extension.
|
Note: Dimension Data Validation only supports the mapping of level-based hierarchies to database columns. An analytic workspace can have other types of mappings, but those are not currently supported by the Dimension Data Validation extension. |
The lower table displays information about warnings or error conditions.
The columns of upper table contain the following information:
Status: Whether the mapping of the dimension is valid. A check mark in a green circle signifies a valid mapping. An X in a red circle indicates a missing or an unsupported mapping.
Dimension: The name of the dimension.
Hierarchy: The name of the hierarchy of the dimension.
Level: The name of the level of the hierarchy.
Depth: The depth of the level in the hierarchy. Level 1 is the top-most level.
Owner: The owner of the schema that contains the analytic workspace.
Table Name: The name of the table that contains the column to which the metadata object is mapped.
Key Column: The key column of the table.
Description Column: The table column that contains the description of the metadata object.
Parent Column (Snowflake): In a snowflake schema, the name of the column that contains the parent of the metadata object.
The lower table contains messages that describe problems with the metadata mappings. The columns of the table are the following:
Severity: Indicates whether the message is an error condition or a warning.
Dimension: The name of the dimension to which the message applies.
Message: The text of the message, including a message code.
The Metadata and Mapping report can contain the following message.
DV-0013
This message indicates that the mapping is invalid or non-existent.
